Metsä looks and feels good – Our new and impressive logo consists of the company name, Metsä, and the head of a moose nobly holding a forest on its antlers. The colour of the logo, a fresh green, symbolises renewal and insight into the future.
Building on a notable history, Metsä Group strongly focuses on the future. The head of the moose is a modernised version of an earlier logo, and the word Metsä – Finnish for “forest” – is suggestive of the origin of our company and our top products.
Sustainable development is important to us, and our new visual identity better reflects this focus through images, messages and colours. The matching main colours of Metsä Group come directly from nature.

Metsäliitto Wood Products Industry, Finnforest is now Metsä Wood. Metsä Wood delivers competitive and eco-efficient wood-based solutions for the needs of the construction industry, other professional customers, and the home and living sectors. Our solutions are manufactured using high-quality Nordic wood as raw material.
Our services cover the entire value chain, from a versatile product range based on high-quality raw materials and an efficient supply chain to outstanding local customer service, and, finally, to the customer. We aim at a deep understanding of our customer’s business to be able to develop solutions that match their increasingly demanding requirements.
Our building and furnishing products are energy-efficient and enhance the building environment and the quality of living. We manufacture our products using the best available technology with low energy consumption and emissions. Our raw material source, sustainably managed forests, absorbs carbon dioxide, which will remain in the wood products for their whole lifecycle. At the end of the wood product’s lifecycle, its energy can be recovered.

Metsä-Botnia is now Metsä Fibre. Metsä Fibre is one of the largest pulp manufacturers in Europe. The company´s main products – bleached softwood and birch pulp – have been developed for the production of high-quality fine paper, magazine and tissue paper and paperboard.

Our sales portfolio is the widest in the world, and it includes pulps of other leading pulp producers. M-real Corporation will be Metsä Board Corporation. Metsä Board is Europe’s leading folding boxboard and coated white-top liner producer and a major paper supplier. Lightweight and ecological consumer packaging based on fresh forest fibres is our core strength. We also offer high-quality office paper, cast-coated paper and board and wallpaper base.
Our objective is to ensure both our own and our business partners’ long-term business success, to contribute to the well-being of people through our products and activities and to minimise the adverse environmental impacts of our operations. High-performance cartonboards for consumer packaging are our key business, but we also offer high-quality papers for office use, as well a specialty papers for labels, forms and many other end uses. We focus on renewing our product concepts and improving the efficiency of our production units. By redefining our product concepts, we aim to offer an even more diverse product range, improve product availability and shorten delivery times.
Decision regarding the change of M-real Corporation’s business name to Metsä Board Corporation will be taken by the Annual General Meeting on 28 March 2012. The content of the website is changed to reflect the new business name on 10 February 2012 except the IR section and the news releases.
Wood trade and forestry services
Metsäliitto Wood Supply is now Metsä Forest – Metsä Group’s wood trade and forestry services are provided by the parent company Metsäliitto Cooperative’s Metsä Forest. It is the Finnish market leader in timber sales from privately owned forests. The members of the cooperative include about 125,000 forest owners, who own nearly half of all the private forests in Finland.
Metsä Forest is a long-term partner of forest owners, providing the owner-members with all services for forestry and wood trade. With Metsä Forest, forest property management is flexible and effortless. With expert forest management, forest owners can profit from forest growth and appreciate the recreational, scenic and natural values of their forest.
